Building up the holiday wardrobe

It's that time of year where all us Brits head off on holiday whether it to be for relaxing, exploring, adventure or just to feel a bit of heat from the sun. In August I am heading off to Greece for a week which I am extremely excited for. Because I don't go on holiday very often and the weather here in England rarely hits 20 degrees my summer wear section of my wardrobe is pretty bare. So each time I go out shopping I have been picking up a few bits which I can take with me on holiday.

So lets start off with the accessories I seem to have accumulated over the past few weeks.

Im not sure whether these are called 'boat shoes' but it's what I like to refer to them as because I feel like a sailer when I wear them, weird? I got them from Matalan and I believe they were £12 and you can find them Here if you are interested. I thought that these would make a good day trip shoe if i'm walking around a lot. I also really liked them because I found the plaited edge to be a twist on the boat shoe.

Now I have to say this purchase was not intended, like most of my purchases for that matter, but when I saw this colour on the shelf in the drugstore I knew I needed to give it a loving home. This is one of the 'Gelly' nail paints by Barry M in the colour 'satsuma'. I find the Gelly polishes to be a lot thicker meaning that you could even get away with using one coat. Colour wise it's a very bright red, coral colour with a hint of orange and I think it makes for a good dupe of Chanel 'holiday' at a fraction of the price. At £3.99 its hard to come out of the shop with out a number of these lovely polishes.

Next we move onto accessories for the hands. I got these rings as part of a set of four from Primark for only £2.50, how bargainous. I have only included these two rings as the other two weren't really to my taste. I am a really big fan of these turquoise stones on jewelery and they add a 'boho' vibe to your look. These will be perfect for a holiday as their not too chunky and have a summery vibe to them.

The next two items are for the eyeballs, well the eyelids to be precise. I have been in the market for a good eye primer that doesn't break the bank for quite a while and as soon as I saw this one from Rimmel I had to snap it up. I think this product was around the £5 mark and in terms of application it's actually not too bad. The primer turns virtually invisible ready for you to apply eyeshadow and prevents any creasing which is a must when your on holiday. This is a product I would definitely recommend to you all.

From the same Brand I also picked up one of their Scandaleyes eyeshadow sticks which had been a hit in the beauty lovers crew. I went for the shade 'Bulletproof Beige'.

This is a really easy and quick product you can use which blend out on the eye like an absolute dream, not even any need for a mirror, even for noobs like me. I think this will be a perfect shade for going on holiday and add warmth to your look.

Moving onto the clothing items, I was 'uhming' and 'ahhing' over whether I should include these shorts but then I thought hey why not people might want to get some inspiration on staple pieces. Now I got these cotton shorts from Matalan for £3 which was a win for me, which I plan to wear over swimwear at the beach or around the pool.

I also got this dress to wear around the pool and was only £5 from H&M. The light material will be perfect for around the pool when I feel the need for a bit more coverage.

My final item is this black dress from H&M at £7. I got this to wear in the evening, its a really light material which is great for hot weather and the crochet detail on the neckline and bottom of the dress adds more of an evening vibe to the dress. To jazz the dress up a little I think a statement belt would be perfect.

So that's all the items I have collected so far. I hope this post was of interest and maybe helped a few of you who are struggling with their holiday wardrobe.

Are you going on holiday soon, where too? what are your holiday wardrobe essentials?

Be sure to look out for my next post

lots of love
