Now you may think that everyone has a twitter account, well if that's you your wrong. I have always had a love hate relationship with the idea of creating a twitter account but I have had a bit of a brainstorm and thought, why not, there is no harm to be done and its a good way to meet new people and create some new opportunities. I think you will all agree that it has been a long time since I posted on here about what songs I am loving so I thought why not do a quick post on what songs I am listening to on repeat at the minute.

If you are a fan of The XX then this band is probably one you will like also. Their music just instantly makes you feel relaxed and calm, which is something I really enjoy after a long day at University. With their new album, 'If You Wait', that just came a couple of weeks ago, I really think that they are going to do pretty well, mark my words. 

30 Seconds To Mars- Do or die

This is another classic by the band, I wasn't too keen on their previous single as it felt too 'pop' for my liking which did make me go off them for a little while (well when I say a while, I mean like two weeks) but once this song came out, my love for the band was most definitely re-kindled.

HAIM- Don't save me 

This is a pretty obvious one but I had to put it in this post because it's such a catchy song. I love HAIM they just seem like the coolest sisters ever and I wish I was one of them, sad I know. This is a really good song to sing super loud, yes I have done it multiple times. If you haven't heard this band before I would recommend them to anyone as their songs are just so catchy, oh and you find your self doing a sneeky foot tap whenever you hear one of their songs, not to be ashamed of.

Hey everyone, I did mention in my previous post that I would be starting University, well after a week of living in halls I can call my self a proper student. I must admit I was so scared and nervous of moving out and to another city but thinking about it I don't think I would of had it any other way, so far it's the best and biggest achievement of my life so far. Anyway enough of the cheesy stuff I just wanted this post to let you all know I am still here, I will try and put up more posts given that I have the time to do it. Nobody may even read this post but it feels good to get things written down as they say. I hope everyone is doing well :)

When it comes to creating your holiday playlist is it just me or do you forget every single song in history and end up putting a load of eighties pop in your ipod that you don't really care much for? Well thats definitely something that I do, so I thought why not put pen to paper, or in this case fingers to keyboard (doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?) and let you in on a few songs which I have added to my holiday playlist. Now I know that your music taste may be completely different to yours and if it is well there's not much I can really do about that, but maybe this will give you a little inspiration and get your brain into gear so you can put songs on your ipod that you do actually enjoy. Enough rambling, lets get on with it ay?

Every so often on this blog I like to grace you all with a song that I have really been enjoying and today is no different.

Now this song by Mcfly is by no means a new song, however Tom Fletcher, the lead singer of Mcfly out out an acoustic version of She Falls asleep on his youtube channel which you can find here. Now it's not the most summery and upbeat of songs but its one where you cant help but listen to the lyrics and take it all in and the piano solos are just so cute in this song and make me feel instantly relaxed. Now if you haven't I strongly suggest you head over to his channel because he often uploads some really cool videos, my personal favourite is the video of his wedding speach which I think nobody on earth would ever be able to top, plus I have watched it twice now and have ended up with tears down my face.

Since leaving college I have found myself with a lot of spare time until I start university in September, and I have been spending some of my time doing something creative. Today I thought I would tell you how to make these really cute and easy vases from just old bottles, so I am also helping the environment at the same time, you can thank me later.

To make these vases you will need to find some glass bottles, I just used a lager bottle and a pop bottle but any bottle of your choice is fine and will look unique. Then you will need some paint that will actually stick to the glass, so paint glass will be fine, I went for more pastel colours just because I think they will be nice for the summer. If you wanted you could then use some string and beads or any little trinkets to wrap around the vase just to give it a more unique feel.

Instead of painting the outside of the bottle, I poured my chosen paint into the bottle so it covoured the inside, this means that you won't get horrible streaky lines. 

Then you just need to leave it to dry! easy. Once it has dried you can then add any final details like the string or you could stick shells to them, anything you like really.

As you all know, every so often I like to fill you in on a song that I have recently been enjoying, so that's what todays post is!

Around two years ago now I got the first book of the series (I Heart New York) free with a magazine and chucked it under my bed thinking it would be a really crappy freebie book, I couldn't be anymore wrong if I tried. Then one day I was really struggling to find something to read so I took the dreaded task of looking to see what I had stashed under my bed and I found the book, thinking I will give it a try and not expecting myself to make it through the first three chapters. One page in, I was hooked. The book then was attached to my hand for the next few days like a new limb untill I had finished the book, cover to cover. Since then I would say I have read the book around three times, thinking it was just a one off novel, but no, there was more (!) I now have the whole I Heart Series  but have put off reading them until I go on holiday.

You may be thinking, but Jess why are you hyping up these books if you have only read one book of the series? Well all I can say that is your going to have to trust me on this one, I can just feel they are going to be just as good.

Shall I tell you what the books are about now and once again stop rambling, ok lets do it. Well it's a very easy going, very girly read, so I sugest you stop reading this post now if girly doesn't appeal to you. It follows the story of Angela Clark who finds her boyfriend cheating on her, which leads her to run away to New York, stay with me it gets better. Once in New York she begins to find herself, has a makeover, starts to go out on dates and lands a job writing a weekly online column for a major magazine. It's deffinately a book that you could read by the pool, not to hard to understand but has a really nice story at the same time. I really can't wait to see how Angela's story pans out, I just need a pool now, oh and maybe a coctail?

Some of you may have noticed no blog post from me on Wednesday because I decided to give myself the day off to celebrate my eighteenth birthday. Now your all probably expecting that I spent the day filling my body with as much alcahol as possible, but no, not for me, instead I had to battle with a tummy bug which doesn't seem to want to go away. But apart from that I had such a good day and I think its going to take an extremely long time for me to realise that I am now classed as an adult.

Before we get fully into this post I just want to say by showing you the things I got for my birthday and what I treated myself to are not to brag, I just really wanted to show you and I personally love seeing what other people have bought/ been given to find inspiration.

On Sunday I popped over to the Birmingham NEC to go to the Good Food and gardening show ( I say popped over, it did take me six whole train rides). I will admit I went for the food aspect, who doesn't love free food right? My favourite thing we got to try by far was the chocolate wine, oh my that was goooood. As  well as looking around new product we also got to see the winner of this years Masterchef cook some dishes, which  thought was pretty darn cool. Overall it was a really good day, if you like food then you will love the food show.

It's been ages since I let you all know what music I'm listening to at the minute, so here I am. This is not a new song but it's one I've only recently discovered and I love it. It's like a proper rock anthem that you can listen to really loudly and just rock out. another song I really like by them is 'open your eyes', go check them out!

Hey everyone, hope your all fine and dandy.

Mondays can be a big pain in the arse and are quite difficult to get through especially after a really good weekend. I just though you would appreciate it if I gave you a website recommendation so that you can all maybe have something to spoil and indulge yourselves into. etsy is an online shop where any creative person can put their product online to sell to the public. The website is adorned with so many cute and lovely things, the first time I went on the website I must have spent hours browsing at all these products. If you like things that are a little different and special you should really check the website out, it sells items from phone cases to  wedding dresses meaning it caters to a lot of audiences. I definitely recommend the site if you want to buy something for a special someone which looks at though a lot of effort has been put in to buying it when really you just had to click a few buttons and enter your bank details. Maybe this website will allow you to take ten minutes (or maybe more if your obsessed like me) out of your miserable monday and treat yourself to something nice.

Hello bloggersphere!

The spring season is well overdue now and we are all itching to break into our spring/summer wardrobe but the weather is simply not allowing this and is forcing us to opt for the wooly tights and jumpers. Not only is this weather stopping us from sporting the spring trends but it also puts a little downer on your mood. Maybe we should all immigrate to a warmer country, anything over 15 degrees would be a luxury for me, that way we can all crack out those pastel nail varnish colours and maybe even expose a little skin. Even though everything seems a little drab at the moment I have however thought of one good thing to come out of this and that is when the summer sales hit the shops. Just dip into your imagination and ponder on the thought of how many nice things we will be able to purchase in the sales rather than the tatty looking things that you normally come across. 

Everyone, we can get through this spring, lets be optimistic and believe that we have a scorcher of a summer just around the corner. Tell that pasty skin of yours that good things come to those who wait, or maybe don't do that because it is a little weird.

Today has to be the most depressing day in terms of the weather, I haven't even opened my curtains as I just can't bare to even catch a glimpse of the horrible snowy weather, Where is the sunshine?!! So  I thought why not write a post in hope that it will cheer a few people up. I have really been enjoy writing these posts about photography as it's something that I really do feel passionate about and it makes a nice change from the things I usually rant on about.

Hello people of the internet!

(Be warned, long blog post ahead)

Now you may or may not be aware of my love of photography, if not then you know now don't you. I got my first ever camera (you will soon see an image below of the beauty) around four years ago which I had bought with all of my own money, you could say I was in love, yes with a camera.

Anyone who also has a love of photography will join me in saying once you get one camera you feel like you need another, this most definitely happened to me. I did love this little compact camera for a long time but as I stepped into my college years I discovered that me and the Fujifilm weren't really working out, then came along the Canon camera...

they don't make many camera's like this anymore

As I began my photography course at college my love grew even more, yes that is possible. Photography does run in my family, both my granddad and uncle all share the same hobby, So my granddad give me this Canon film camera which he didn't want anymore. I was really happy with this camera because I was able to process films myself at college and it made me feel much more involved in the final image I had produced. I still occasionally use this camera but I did find I wanted a digital camera which would be a lot quicker to process, say hello to the Nikon...

I don't know why but I do love a red camera

This Nikon coolpix was my next camera but I found I wasn't get along with this camera as much as I thought I would, so my realtionship with it broke down after just one year ( is this wierd that I am referring to these cameras like partners?) It was time for a 'proper' camera.

I haven't wrote to you all in a little while and I thought what better than to give you all a little positive motivation, how kind of me.

Be yourself, Be happy.

Over the years, particularly my years at secondary school, I felt the pressure to be a certain way and it happens to every single on of us at some point in our lives. Sometimes we feel that if we look, act or do something in a certain way then it would make us 'fit in' and who out there wants to feel as though they don't, right? As I made the transition from secondary school into college I found that by being able to wear my own clothes everyday it enabled me to be the person I really am and not pretend to be someone else to fit in,  this was because everyone else was also doing the same thing, discovering that being themselves was a much easier and happier way to live. So really my message that I am trying to get across in this post is that no matter what you look like, what your hobbies are or how you act in life you can be happy in knowing that you have done it all by being yourself and that sure is something to be proud of. There's no better feeling than knowing that people like you for exactly who you are rather than someone that you're not.

If this post makes just one person feel good about themselves than to me this post was a success, I know I don't normally do posts like this but I thought I would be a nice change, let me know if you want me to do more posts like this.
