Some of you may have noticed no blog post from me on Wednesday because I decided to give myself the day off to celebrate my eighteenth birthday. Now your all probably expecting that I spent the day filling my body with as much alcahol as possible, but no, not for me, instead I had to battle with a tummy bug which doesn't seem to want to go away. But apart from that I had such a good day and I think its going to take an extremely long time for me to realise that I am now classed as an adult.
Before we get fully into this post I just want to say by showing you the things I got for my birthday and what I treated myself to are not to brag, I just really wanted to show you and I personally love seeing what other people have bought/ been given to find inspiration.
On Tuesday, the day before my birthday me and my mum went up to Manchester for a shopping day. It was my first time going to The Old Trafford centre so it was really exciting and if anybody has seen The Great Gatsby in the cinemas recently, the shopping centre looked a lot like Gatsby's house but with shops inside, it was beautiful. Anyway I'm starting to babble, here's what I bought.
Next up I went into Selfridges and found the poshest Primark section on earth, I was in love. Here I got the outfit I wore for my birthday which you can see above. The yellow top (£3) you can see is actually a crop top, something I thought I would never be interested in a million years but I thought it went really well with a skirt I also bought. I also got this denim pinafore dress (£12) which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it and I just think It's a piece that I can put with loads of things at anytime of the year and also a piece which I think will stay in fashion for a long time.
I also got this patterned scater style skirt from Primark for my holiday because I thought the colours looked quite Greek, I plan to match this with the yellow crop top because I think they work really well together.
I then went to River Island and picked up a couple of jewelry pieces. First I got a set of two knuckle rings which I had wanted for ages but was never able to find and these were only two pounds, bargain right? I also got the ear cuff (£1.50) because I got a bit carried away but now I have it I'm not really sure I like it too much, oh well.
The bracelet you can see in the above photo was actually a gift given to me from my mum and I just thought it would be right to include it in that photo. I saw this bracelet a while ago in American Apparel and my mum obviously saw that I liked it and surprised me with it on my birthday. I just love the simplicity of it and it will go with everything, it's one of those things that you can't stop looking at.
My cousin bought this amazing envelope clutch bag which will be perfect for nights out, I really like the cut out detailing with the neon green lining, it just makes it a bit different, I can't wait to use it!
So those were a few things that I wanted to show you all, I hoped you liked them. My birthday was so lovely minus the tummy bug but thats life ayy, I'm so grateful for all the things I got.
lots of love
Jess.xx
