What's your skin type?

It can be a little overwhelming and confusing when identifying your skin type, until recently I was not 100% sure on what my skin type was. So for those of you who are unsure this post may help. Skin types include dry, sensitive, oily, normal and combination.

Over your life you will probably all find that your skin type will change as you get older, like most things in life. Your skin type can depend in a number of things such as your water content, oil content and the sensitivity level of your skin. Are you with me so far, ok good.

Most of us wish we could be the lucky few who have normal skin. This includes your skin have hardly any imperfections, no visible pores,a radiant complexion and is not very sensitive. Ok so now we have got that one out of the way lets move on to the others.

Combination skin is my skin type along with a lot of other poeple meaning that your skin is a mixture of skin types, my skin for example is a mixture of oily (T zone area) along with a few dry patches. If you have combination skin you will find your face can often look shiny, you have some visible pores and you often get blackheads.

Next up is dry skin. If you find that your skin is dull and flaky then this is your skin type. To combat dry skin you need to add moisture to you skin by moisturizing regularly and drinking lots of water.

If you have oily skin you will find that you are often prone to a breakout and you have quite a shiny complexion. This skin type can be caused by hormones, stress or even heat.

The last skin type is sensitive skin. If you have this you will find redness and itchiness in your skin and sometimes dry patches. To help prevent your skin from being sensitive you could use fragrance free products or ones which are specifically for sensitive skin.

I hope that this post may of helped a few people. Let me know if you enjoy this type of post at it's not what I normally do.

lots of love
